Bishkek, April 27, 2021. / Kabar /. A mobile application Modern Farmer will appear in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the republic’s Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Regional Development said Tuesday.
Through the application, the farmer chooses a field, and the program offers him 7 crops and calculates the average future income from the harvest.
The program provides a calendar plan of all agro-technical works, starting from plowing, sowing and harvesting. The app will advise farmer on the selected crops, monitor the condition of the field, determine plant diseases, give recommendations on the need for plant protection products, fertilizer use, area calculation, fertilizer application rates and much more.
The app will also send a notification to the farmer's phone about timely farming activities. From the moment a crop is selected, the farmer can sign a futures contract for a future crop and receive financing. Thus, the issue of cooperation of individual farmers under one large contract will be solved.
In addition, digitalization will promote climate-optimized, organic farming technologies.
