Bishkek, Oct. 6, 2023. / Kabar /. Mongolia wants to donate 100 yaks to Kyrgyzstan to update the gene pool of these animals. This became known during a meeting between Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan Aibek Artykbaev and Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia Hayangaa Bolorchuluun.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the parties discussed the implementation of agreements reached during the state visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to Mongolia on July 9-11 this year, as well as issues related to food, agriculture and light industry.
The minister noted that the greatest potential for cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia relates to agriculture. At the same time, he expressed the readiness of the Mongolian side to donate 100 heads of yaks to Kyrgyzstan if veterinary permitting documents are approved.
In turn, the ambassador spoke about the readiness of Kyrgyzstan, together with their Mongolian colleagues, to consider the possibility of establishing supplies of meat and meat products from Mongolia to Kyrgyzstan.
Artykbaev also proposed to intensify efforts to implement a memorandum of cooperation in the field of plant quarantine in order to further export agricultural plants from Kyrgyzstan to Mongolia.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain regular contacts in order to quickly resolve issues of mutual interest.
