Monument to Colonel Niyazbekov who died during special operation on detention ex-president erected

Bishkek, May 12, 2020. /Kabar/. A monument to special forcers soldier of the Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security (SCNS), Colonel Usenbek Niyazbekov has been unveiled at the Ala-Archa cemetery in Bishkek.

The ceremony held on May 12, on the day of memory of the Alpha special units soldiers who died in line of duty, was attended by representatives of the Government’s Office, veterans and the SCNS leadership, as well as family members and close of Colonel Niyazbekov, the pres service of the National Security Committee reported.

At the opening ceremony, speakers noted Niyazbekov was a simple and cheerful man.

"He was remembered as a kind, responsive and loving father. True son the Fatherland was fulfilling his duty to the end. After completing a feat, Niyazbekov passed away, but he always stays with us," the message said.

Colonel Usenbek Niyazbekov died on Aug. 7, 2019 during a special operation on detention ex-President Almazbek Atambayev.

He was posthumously awarded the Erdik medal.
