Bishkek, Mar. 26, 2019. /Kabar/. More than 15,000 students from Kyrgyzstan study in Russia, this was announced at the conference “Youth of Russia and Kyrgyzstan: New Horizons of Cooperation” in the framework of the upcoming state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Kyrgyz Republic.
Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Nikolai Udovichenko told it is important to maintain these ties and carry on working.
“Russia and Kyrgyzstan are bound by a common desire to build a joint future. One of these important binders is education. More than 15 thousand Kyrgyzstanis study in Russia, it is extremely important that these relations not collapse,” he said.
In his speech, the Ambassador recalled the decree of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov on preparations for the celebration of Victory Day and expressed his gratitude to those organizations who are actively involved in the search work of veterans who went missing in the war.
“It is important to remember and honor the memory of our heroes, who defended the independence of our countries,” he said, adding that this year marks the 180th anniversary of the famous Russian traveler Przhevalsky. On this occasion, conferences devoted to this topic will be held at the KRSU (Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University) and the University of Jalal-Abad, and on April 13 a number of events are expected to commemorate the traveler.
