Bishkek, April 26, 2021. / Kabar /. More than 7 thousand refusals to vaccinate children were registered in Kyrgyzstan in 2020, Director of the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis Gulbara Ishenapisova told at Kabar Agency.

She said that more than 68% of parents refuse for religious reasons, and 20% - because of lack of confidence in the quality of vaccines. “Active work is underway on refusals, jointly with local self-government bodies and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan,” Ishenapisova said.

She noted that thanks to the cooperation, a fatwa was issued in the country that medicines and other means that do not harm human health can be used, including vaccines.
