More than half million residents of Kyrgyzstan vaccinated against COVID-19

Bishkek, Aug. 5, 2021. / Kabar /. As of August 5, 2021, more than 505 thousand people or 14.8% of the total number of citizens subject to vaccination received the vaccine against coronavirus infection, the press service of the Cabinet said.

According to their information, more than 641 thousand vaccines have been used in total. More than half a million people were vaccinated with the first dose, and more than 135 thousand people were vaccinated with the second.

It is noted that 3.4 million people within the framework of the National Plan for Vaccination against COVID-19 have been identified as a target group to be vaccinated in the country. The target group does not include children under the age of 18, external labor migrants. For the formation of collective immunity, it is necessary to vaccinate at least 70% of citizens included in the target group, which is 2.4 million people.

“Dear fellow citizens, the Republican Operational Headquarters reminds that the only reliable way to prevent the spread of COVID-19, to protect yourself and your loved ones from the severe course of the disease, to prepare your body in advance and to provide immune protection is vaccination.

We urge citizens to actively participate in immunization against COVID-19, which is carried out free of charge and on a voluntary basis," the Cabinet of Ministers said.
