Moscow hosts meeting of Kyrgyz, Tajik top diplomats

Bishkek, Sept. 9, 2020. /Kabar/. A bilateral meeting of Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov and Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin took place in Moscow.

According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, at the beginning of the meeting FM Aidarbekov congratulated his counterpart on the 29th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence, which is celebrated annually on Sept. 9.

The two foreign ministers discussed a wide range of topical issues on the agenda. Emphasizing the good neighborly nature of bilateral relations, the ministers noted the need to coordinate efforts to prevent provocations and strengthen cross-border cooperation.

Due to the spread of COVID-19, the sides regretted the postponement of talks of the working groups of the government delegations of the two countries on the delimitation and demarcation at the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border, and noted the importance of organizing this meeting in the near future.

They also discussed cooperation within international organizations and topical issues of regional cooperation.
