Tashkent, Nov. 24, 2021 . / Kabar /. The most expensive car number in Uzbekistan - 30 Z 777 ZZ was bought for UZS 596.5 million ($57,000) by a buyer from Samarkand Region, the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange reported Wednesday.
Plates are put up for auction, which lasts for 5 working days. The cheapest license plates will cost 5 base units for residents of regions and 10 base units - for residents of Tashkent (1unit – UZS 270,000, or $25). Car owners in Tashkent and Tashkent Oblast lead the pack, the report said.
In the first quarter of 2021, Uzbekistanis bought "beautiful" car license plates for a record sum of UZS 441.5 million ($41,000). In total, motorists spent UZS 62.2 billion (about $5.9 million) to buy car plates, 54.5% more compared to the same period last year.
