Bishkek, Jan. 6, 2025. / Kabar /. A mother and daughter were injured as a result of an explosion on January 5, 2025 in in the village of Arka-2, Leilek district, Batken region, the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to the report, the cause of the explosion was an unidentified explosive object, discovered by the citizen among old building materials.
The owner of the house, while cleaning under the canopy, where old building materials and iron were kept, discovered an unidentified explosive object, which exploded. As a result of the explosion, a mother and her 12-year-old daughter, who was nearby, received shrapnel wounds.
The victims are currently in hospital, where they have received the necessary medical care.
Their health condition is assessed as stable.
In addition, on the same day, a meeting was held between representatives of law enforcement agencies of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, where the Tajik side was informed about the incident.
In 2022, the house of this citizen was burned down as a result of shelling during the Kyrgyz -Tajik conflict.
