Bishkek, Mar. 20, 2019. /Kabar/. Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) decided to consider the situation at the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on April 3 with the participation of Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev. The decision was made at a meeting of the Parliament on Wednesday.
Initially, the agenda included the question of hearing a government report on the matter the same day, but after long discussions, the hearing was postponed due to the absence of the Prime Minister. Vice Prime Minister Jenish Razakov was to deliver a report on the situation.
The Prime Minister did not have the chance to attend the meeting due to a business trip in the south of the Kyrgyz Republic.
A number of people’s representatives called for a special meeting to be held on Friday, March 22, but it turned out that Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev would leave the country that day to attend the next EAEU meeting.
On March 13, a conflict between the citizens of the Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan at the state border in Batken oblast took place. The cause of the conflict was the construction of the Aksai-Tamdyk bypass road. The authorities of the two countries managed to stabilize the situation.
