Muratbek Azymbakiev meets with reps of number of foreign delegations in New York

Bishkek, Sept. 26, 2024 . / Kabar / . Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Muratbek Azymbakiev met with representatives of a number of foreign delegations on the margins of the High-Level Week of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on behalf of President Sadyr Zhaparov.

Azymbakiev met with Prime Minister of Lesotho Ntsokoane Samuel Matekane, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported.

He also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste Bendito dos Santos Freitas, Minister of Trade and Economic Development of Tonga Viliami Latu.

The sides discussed issues of strengthening multilateral cooperation of landlocked developing countries and small island developing states in the international arena within the UN framework.

During the talks, the head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration handed over to the interlocutors a message from President Sadyr Zhaparov, which contains a request to support Kyrgyzstan's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2027-2028.
