Bishkek, Apr. 8, 2019. /Kabar/. Muslims in Kyrgyzstan are forbidden to be engaged in network marketing and to do aesthetic plastic surgery, the press service of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (SAMK) reported.

The Council of Ulama is the supreme body of the SAMK, and its decisions are fatwas based on the principles of Islam and on the precedents of Muslim legal practice, the report said.

Considering that in network marketing there are high risks of doing business, and that it does not coincide with the rules of doing business according to Sharia, a fatwa was adopted, which states that network marketing as a business is haram (sin).

With regard to plastic surgery, the Sharia allows them to correct congenital disability and the consequences of accidents (car accidents, operations to avoid disabilities, etc.). However, if the surgery is performed only for beauty, it is considered haram (sin).

In addition, the Ulema Council reviewed vaccination appeals, noting that the issue of the need for vaccinations was widely discussed by Muslims. The vaccination is at the discretion of every Muslim.
