Bishkek, Jan. 9, 2018. / Kabar /. Experts propose to increase the agricultural potential of Kyrgyzstan by introducing nano-fertilizers in agriculture, the use of which in the last year gave good results.
Chairwoman of the Kyrgyz Association of Exporters and Importers Lenar Niyazbekova during a press conference at Kabar News Agency said that in Jan. 2017, within the framework of the organization's activities, “From soil to marketing” project was launched.
"The goal of the project was to provide our farmers with opportunities to compete in the foreign market. The external market requires from manufacturers three main components: volume, quality and price policy. And since Kyrgyzstan is an agrarian country, it has all the opportunities to occupy its own niche in the global agricultural sector, but at the same time we have not yet fully disclosed our potential and we are exporting only a small part," Niyazbekova explained.
To achieve this goal, representatives of the association signed a contract with the Russian company for the production of modern fertilizer named glycerol, and invited the company's experts to evaluate the Kyrgyz soil. Niyazbekova said that, they investigated the soil in most of the country's sown areas and offered farmers to enrich the soil with nano-fertilizers to produce high-quality crops.
"The problem was that our farmers are not informed on the requirements to export products, and they still have this concept: the more agrochemicals and irrigation, the more yield. They cautiously reacted to our proposal, and the project was launched in pilot mode in four regions of Kyrgyzstan,” chairman of the Association of Exporters and Importers of Kyrgyzstan said.
Fertilizers for farmers under the pilot project were distributed free of charge, and their use gave good results.
This year the association's representatives intend to continue working in this direction and open centers in the regions.
