Bishkek, Dec. 9, 2021 . / Kabar /. No patients left in coronavirus department of the Naryn Oblast United Hospital, the Republican Center for Health Promotion said Thursday.

The last patient of the new 70-bed infectious disease unit was discharged on Dec. 6.

Doctors are confident that the rate of coronavirus infection has been contained thanks to high COVID-19 vaccination coverage.

As of today, 65% of Naryn residents have been vaccinated, indicating that collective immunity will soon be achieved. Meanwhile, residents have already begun receiving the third dose of vaccine. Such measures protect against a severe course of the disease and death. Revaccination is primarily recommended for people at risk.

These are education and health care workers and citizens over the age of 60.

68-years-old teacher Marina Vandysh is also in the risk group. The disease has taken lives of her relatives. That is why she chooses vaccination, the only reliable means of preventing the virus. Vandysh has already received her third dose of the coronavirus vaccine and urges Kyrgyz people to follow her example.

"It is necessary to be vaccinated, especially for those in the risk group, like me - people of age. The main thing is to keep people alive and healthy, so I urge people to get vaccinated!" said Marina Vandysh.
