Bishkek, Aug. 24, 2021. / Kabar /. Grand opening of the festivals "Kyrgyz Shyrdagy", "Oimo" and "Manas" is held in Naryn city’s central square, the press service of the Naryn Mayor's Office said.
The solemn event was attended by Mayor of the city Samarbek Bolotbekov, governor Sabyrkul Ashimbaev, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Kairat Imanaliev, as well as artisans, representatives of art, artists, storytellers and local residents, the report said.
The Manas festival is held in honor of the 160th anniversary of the poet-storyteller Togolok Moldo.
The grand opening of the festival was accompanied by theatrical scenes, songs, dances and the narrating of the Manas epic, the report said.
Within the framework of the Manas festival, the winner of the Zhash Manaschy competition was awarded for the promotion of the Kyrgyz national cultural heritage.
