National Bank of Kyrgyzstan bought 7 tons of domestic gold since beginning of year

Bishkek, Sept. 29, 2021 . / Kabar / . Head of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan Tolkunbek Abdygulov told about the purchase of gold.

Thus, during a meeting of the Kyrgyz Parliament on Wednesday, Abdygulov said the Bank has no relations with Kumtor (the largest high-mountain gold deposit in Central Asia, located in Kyrgyzstan).

“In accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic we have to buy all the gold produced in the country. Since the beginning of the year, the National Bank has bought about 7 tons of gold, all this gold is in the Bank’s vault and will serve our people as a reserve," Abdygulov added.
