Bishkek, Sept. 4, 2024. / Kabar/. A meeting was held between the Director of the National Center for the Prevention of Torture of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Kasymkulov and the UN Resident Coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic Antje Grawe.
During the meeting, the results of work, priority areas of activity, as well as issues of increasing the capacity of the National Center to effectively perform the functions of the national preventive mechanism for the prevention of torture and ill-treatment in Kyrgyzstan were discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual readiness to continue and strengthen cooperation between the National Center for the Prevention of Torture and the UN office in Kyrgyzstan.
For her part, Antje Grawe emphasized the positive results of the National Center, as one of the leading human rights institutions in the country, and her readiness to support the it in strengthening human rights.
