National Development Strategy of Kyrgyzstan for 2018-2040 approved

Bishkek, Nov. 1, 2018. /Kabar/. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov has signed the Decree on the National Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2018-2040.

The Decree of the President states:

“The National Council for Sustainable Development of the Kyrgyz Republic adopted the National Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2018-2040 after a broad public discussion, taking into account the “Trust. Unity. Creation” program of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, programs of political parties, proposals of deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic, state bodies, local governments, donor and expert community, public associations, businesses and citizens.

In accordance with Articles 60 and 65 of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, for the purpose of consolidating government bodies and society, political and social forces, business and citizens in achieving the medium-term and long-term development goals of the country, as well as on the basis of the decision of the National Council for Sustainable Development of the Kyrgyz Republic August 13, 2018 No. 1 I hereby resolve as follows:

To approve the National Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2018–2040 (hereinafter referred to as Strategy 2040), taking into account the suggestions and comments made during the 7th meeting of the National Council for Sustainable Development of the Kyrgyz Republic (hereinafter the National Council), including the “Priority Directions for the Development of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2023”.

To recommend the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, the judicial authorities, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, local governments to align their strategic documents (concepts, strategies, programs) and action plans with the Strategy 2040.

To recommend the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic together with the Secretariat of the National Council to include measures to implement the Strategy 2040 in the Action Plan of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on the implementation of the “Unity. The trust. Creation” Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic for the period 2018-2022.

Secretariat of the National Council:

- to ensure the dissemination of the Strategy 2040 among the government, local government, civil society and development partners;

-consistently monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Strategy 2040 with the participation of representatives of various branches of power and civil society;

-annually conduct an analysis of the country's development together with the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in order to revise and adjust the priorities of the Strategy 2040 in accordance with the established procedure and review the analysis results at the National Council.

I retain control over the implementation of this Decree.

This Decree shall enter into force on the day of its official publication.”
