National Security Committee explains MP Tekebayev’s detention

Bishkek, Feb. 26 / Kabar /. As previously reported, on February 25, 2017 the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic initiated a criminal case against the leader of Ata Meken faction Omurbek Tekebayev and others accusing him of corruption and fraud, the press service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reports.

On February 26, 2017 Omurbek Tekebayev has been detained at Manas international airport upon arrival from Istanbul. He was arrested on suspicion of committing these offenses and taken to the building of the National Security Committee for investigation.

Currently Tekebayev is placed in jail for 48 hours.
