Nazarbayev: There are no problems between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan that could not be resolved

Astana, Dec. 25, 2017. / Kabar /. There are no problems between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan that could not be resolved, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said during the meeting in the extended format with Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Zheenbekov, who is currently on an official visit in Astana.

Nazarbayev said that this is the second meeting in recent years and in a short period of time it was possible to resolve many issues that could not be solved.

"Our meeting is held in the year of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations. There are very important words in our relations, like eternal friendship, strategic partnership. I believe that today we are opening a new page in our relations. In 25 years of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, 150 documents have been signed. I think no one has such a documentary base. Kazakhstan does not have such institutional relations with other countries. So many documents and agreements have been signed only with Kyrgyzstan," Kazakh head of state said.

"Now we have the opportunity to resolve all issues between two peoples, leaving them behind and going forward. I am personally ready for this," he said. "In order to everyone here understand us, we will switch to the international language," said Nazarbayev, who had spoken earlier in Kazakh and continued his speech in Russian.

Speaking about the economic part, Nazarbayev said that for 10 months the volume of trade increased by 13%. Kazakhstan is one of the main partners of Kyrgyzstan and one of the main investors. During these years about 650 million dollars were invested into Kyrgyz economy, several hundred joint corporations are operating in Kyrgyzstan. More than 700 enterprises with participation of the Kyrgyz business are working in Kazakhstan.

"Now we are working in the conditions of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). Since the meeting in Minsk not so much time has passed, but our governments have done a very tremendous job in resolving many issues that have been worried both you and us. Therefore, we can further talk about future deeds," Nazarbayev said.
