Bishkek, July 20, 2023. /Kabar/. Almost 300 people died in road accidents in Kyrgyzstan in six months, Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers - Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev said Thursday at a meeting of the Cabinet.
He noted that for 6 months of 2023, 2 thousand 996 road accidents were registered in the country, 269 citizens died in them.
"Almost 300 citizens died in accidents, let alone about the number of injured,” Tashiev added.
He called on inspectors of the Main Department for Road Safety to work hard around the clock. The head of the State Committee for National Security stressed the need to ruthlessly punish drunk drivers and including those who criticize the increase in fines.
“Without this, we cannot save the lives of our citizens," Tashiev said.
