The Ministry of Finance has held a press conference on the results of the tender on construction of hemodialysis centers on the basis of PPP.
At the event it was noted that public-private partnership will be effective in the development of hemodialysis services at the level of international requirements.
Within the framework of the project for construction of hemodialysis centers on the basis of PPP, it is planned to build and equip modern hemodialysis clinics in Tashkent, Karakalpakstan and Khorezm to establish the provision of hemodialysis services to patients with chronic renal failure at the level of international standards. The total cost of the project is $9.7 million of foreign investment. The implementation of this project will extend the life of 1,100 patients for 10-15 years by providing them with high-quality hemodialysis services.
The tender was attended by more than 10 major international dialysis companies and consortia that have their own clinics in many countries of the world, in particular in Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, South Korea and India.
As it was noted, the Indian company will finance and build four dialysis clinics in Tashkent, Karakalpakstan and Khorezm, which will make it possible to provide over a thousand patients with vital hemodialysis services. It will also train specialists.
The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health also have signed two new consulting agreements with IFC on the project of financing, construction, equipping hospitals for radiation therapy of cancer patients, training and education of medical personnel. Hospitals are planned to be built in three regions of Uzbekistan.
