Bishkek, Aug. 2, 2022 . /Kabar/. A neuronavigation system for skull trepanation appeared in Kyrgyzstan for the first time, the Ministry of Health of the republic said.
This is a medical equipment, which helps to quickly and with maximum accuracy determine the location of neoplasms in the brain and use the shortest rational surgical access.
"The neuronavigation system makes it possible to significantly reduce the area of skull trepanation and the risk of damage to nearby important structures of the brain," the report said.
The system was purchased for the National Hospital through the COVID-19 Emergency Response Project funded by the World Bank.
Neuronavigation data allows efficient planning and execution of operations with particular precision, which significantly reduces risks to the life and health of the patient.
This system was purchased in addition to the neurosurgical equipment (endoscopic rack with kit) previously purchased under the COVID-19 Emergency Response Project, which is used to treat a wide range of neurosurgical conditions in post-operative patients.
