New airport in south of Kyrgyzstan given name of famous statesman Iskhak Razzakov

Bishkek, Dec. 7, 2020. /Kabar/. Isfana airport has given name of great statesman of the Kyrgyz Republic Iskhak Razzakov, Acting Prime Minister, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov sid during an opening ceremony of the new airport terminal in Batken Oblast , the press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported.

"Today is a double holiday. A new, renovated airport in Isfana town, which will bear the name of great statesman Iskhak Razzakov is being opened. After the construction of the new terminal building and reconstruction of the elements of the airport, the airport received a Certificate of Suitability and is allowed to operate in accordance with the requirements of Aviation Regulations of the Kyrgyz Republic. This airport has served the people for over 45 years. I hope that after the reconstruction it will serve for many more years,” Novikov noted.

The acting head of the government congratulated all those present with the opening of an important infrastructure facility and noted that the opening of the airport is the result of fruitful work.

Further, Artem Novikov laid flowers to the monument of Iskhak Razzakov, installed in Isfana, and visited the museum of the outstanding statesman and politician of our time.

Isfana Airport was built and put into operation in the seventies of last century.

Since April 2019, regular flights on the Bishkek - Isfana - Bishkek route were suspended due to non-renewal of the Certificate of Airfield Validity.
