Bishkek, Feb. 13, 2021 / Kabar /. The new constitution will end chaotic rule, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov told in an interview with Kabar News Agency, speaking about the constitutional reform in the country.
The president noted that criticism is inevitable. “Five fingers are not equal. But the Constitution will put an end to chaotic rule,” he said.
Zhaparov connected all today's personnel disorders with the current Constitution. “Today there are three "forces" - parliament, government, president. If a new Constitution is adopted, everything will be all right. There are those in the country who do not want order. They try to mislead people by saying - look what happened, this is what happened. But flaws are inevitable. We try to eliminate them immediately. They say that only those who do not work are not mistaken. The main thing is not to make a mistake in big strategic work affecting the general interests of the state. Internal minor differences and personnel shortcomings will be promptly eliminated. There is no need to make a tragedy. God willing, big things will begin in the spring,” Zhaparov said.
The head of state also replied when the new draft of the Constitution will be put to a nationwide vote.
“We hope that the Constitution will be put to the vote on April 11, together with the elections to local councils. The Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) must determine this. We can save money by holding a referendum alongside local elections. There is no extra money in the treasury. The referendum and elections to local councils will take place on the same day,” the president said.
