New COVID-19 vaccination plan. Target group will include 4 mln citizens

As part of the new third National COVID-19 Vaccination Plan of Kyrgyzstan, which is being developed, the target group will include 4 million citizens, Gulbara Ishenapysova, director of the Republican Immunoprophylaxis Center of the Ministry of Health of the country told at a press conference at Kabar Agency.

She said that as part of updating the plan, it is planned to focus on adolescents and citizens who have not received a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

“It should be noted that according to the previously approved National Vaccination Plan, priority groups were mainly vaccinated - these are health workers, social workers, teachers, law enforcement officers, people with chronic diseases,” she said.

As a result, data on coverage of the second dose is as follows:

- medical workers - 80%;

- workers in the field of education - 80%;

- population older than 60 years - 31%.
