After gaining independence, the industrial sector of Kyrgyzstan, inherited from the USSR, was plundered over 30 years. Most of the state property was privatized, and industrial enterprises were transferred to private hands or investors for temporary use.
Industrial enterprises that provided thousands of citizens with jobs were suspended and Kyrgyzstanis were forced to migrate, and some were forced to feed their families by trading and farming.
In 2022, the Kyrgyz government aimed at bringing the national economy out of crisis and began to revive the industrial sector. First of all, privatized property was returned to the state, special attention was paid to the restoration of enterprises and the launch of new small and medium-sized industrial enterprises.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov noted that the state, which did not even produce nails, has turned into a state that already produces cars. At the end of 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers set an ambitious goal to launch 100 enterprises by the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region. Today, this plan is already being implemented.

More than 50 social facilities and about 40 industrial enterprises were opened by Independence Day. President Sadar Zhaparov personally launched the work of hydro power plants, construction materials factories, trade and logistics centers, textile factories, etc.
Among the large enterprises, one can mention the Terek-Tash clinker plant, which was built in the Kemin district, and the cement plant in the city of Tokmok in the Chui region. By the end of the year, it is planned to commission about 40 more industrial and social facilities. Among them: mini hydro power plants Isfayram-1 in the Kadamzhai district, Kurak-Tektir in the Nookat district, the Kara-Bulak trade and logistics center in the At-Bashinsky district, meat processing plants, the Min-Kush construction plant in the Naryn region, the Junda oil refinery, a gold bar plant in the city of Kara-Balta, and an oil refinery in the Suzak district. The question may arise as to how a country that did not even produce nails suddenly began to produce cars, but this is the reality of today. For the first time, a joint Kyrgyz-Uzbek car manufacturing plant, Tulpar Motors, was opened in the Moscow district of the Chui region. The plant, which is located on 4.5 hectares of land, will produce about 10 thousand cars per year, and in the future it is planned to increase the plant's capacity to 30 thousand. The plant is engaged in the assembly of passenger cars, trucks, and buses.

"Today we are not only opening factories and plants, but also marking the beginning of a new era of industrial independence. These enterprises will provide new jobs and make a great contribution to the development of the economy, improving the social status of citizens, and raising the technological level of the country. I believe that new enterprises will become a symbol of progress, and new schools and kindergartens will raise education in schools and kindergartens to a new level. I believe that these 100 facilities that we are launching this year will become the basis for changing the lives of citizens and economic progress," said Sadyr Zhaparov at the opening of a new clinker plant in Kemin.
Expert, doctor of Economics Adilya Abdieva said that over 30 years, the launch of one plant was a big event, and now several enterprises and social facilities are launched every day.

"When plants and factories are opened, it does not matter whether with budget money or with investors' funds, first of all, financing is important. Before this, the funds in the republican budget were always limited, but in 2023 we saw a surplus. Today, thanks to the correct economic, budget-fiscal and investment policies of the state, attention is paid not only to the social sphere of the country, but also to the national economy. The economy is, first of all, the development of the real sector, the launch of small and medium-sized industrial entities and their support," she said.
Also, the creation of Kyrgyzindustry OJSC was an important step in the development of the industrial potential of Kyrgyzstan. This company unites 14 industrial enterprises, including light industry, transport, and construction. Among them is also a button factory, Kyrgyz Topchu, which was launched in 2023. According to statistics, Kyrgyzstan purchased buttons from abroad worth USD 10 million per year.
In addition, Kyrgyzindustry has a subsidiary, Kyrgyzelectronics LLC, which assembles Meken brand laptops. Soon, laptops will enter the market that were assembled not in China, but in Kyrgyzstan.

Abdieva emphasized that revolutions, corruption, high crime rates, and political instability did not allow investors to work and pulled the state back. Now we are seeing stability in the country, and we can guarantee protection to investors. Now both domestic and foreign investors are interested in investing their funds in Kyrgyzstan.
In one of the interviews with Kabar Agency, President Sadyr Zhaparov said that Kyrgyzstan is open to all investors. "Work with investors. Attract investors to the country. Do not take your income abroad, but rather bring it home. Then you will be pure before the Almighty and before the people," the head of state said, addressing everyone.
The tire recycling plant of Kumtor Gold Company processed 900 thousand kilograms in 8 months in pilot mode.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov said that processed products from Kyrgyzstan are even exported to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
“There is a future for a hundred enterprises that were opened for the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region. They were all opened within the framework of the feasibility study. They all produce products that are currently in demand on the market. The Cabinet of Ministers provided good support for the opening of these enterprises, allocating land and financing. Entrepreneurs also showed their activity, sharing their ideas and plans. Soon these enterprises will begin to bear fruit, which is very important for economic growth,” said Bakyt Degenbaev, Chairman of the Export Development Committee at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
It should also be noted that the healthcare sector was not left without attention.

Since 97% of medicines and medical products are imported from other countries, there was a need to build a pharmaceutical plant. If earlier we did not even produce saline solution, then the pharmaceutical enterprise "Biovit" was opened recently in the Chui region.
The new plant began to produce infusion solutions, injection ampoules and eye drops. Medicine is not just a product, but a means that is closely related to the life and health of people. This plant is equipped with advanced technologies and meets all modern standards.
All goods that these enterprises, plants, factories produce are the face of Kyrgyzstan. And not only the state, but every Kyrgyzstani should support local production.
