Bishkek, Oct. 10, 2018. /Kabar/. A foundation for preparation of sustainable development projects was established under the Ministry of Economy The UNDP Office in Kyrgyzstan provided support in establishing the foundation to support and strengthen the capacity of entrepreneurs in the republic.
The Ministry of Economy reported that the goal of the new institution is to support the potential of entrepreneurs to finance sustainable development projects, especially from the regions. As part of the foundation’s activities, the Council begins its work on forming a list of priority investment projects.
On October 10, a meeting of the Council on the formation of a list of priority investment projects was held at the Ministry of Economy, with the participation of Daniyar Imanaliev, head of the department of economics and investment, and Aydin Sharsheev, State Secretary of the Ministry, and other representatives of relevant bodies and departments.
In particular, the Council developed and approved criteria for the selection of priority industries and enterprises\business projects, an application form for the formation of a list of potential business and investment projects for obtaining strategic and technical support in preparing business projects for obtaining funding.
The Council operates within the framework of a new organization - the Sustainable Development Project Preparation Foundation, which will provide a range of services to assist in the preparation of quality business and investment projects to receive funding from the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund and other international financial institutions. The Council is supervisory, and is formed for strategic support to the Sustainable Development Project Preparation Foundation.
The Sustainable Development Project Preparation Foundation was created with technical support from the UNDP Project in the Kyrgyz Republic “Strengthening Capacities for Financing Sustainable Development in the CIS Region”, funded by the Trust Fund of the Russian Federation. The project will assist in the establishment and development of the Foundation.
The project will provide:
- technical assistance to identify promising projects for funding;
- technical assistance for the creation and establishment of the Sustainable Development Project Preparation Foundation;
- technical support in the development of a feasibility study and expert support before receiving funding.
The goal of the Sustainable Development Project Preparation Foundation is to increase the availability of finance for business entities, including sustainable financing, which they use to develop businesses, expand production, acquire and modernize fixed assets, introduce new technologies, innovate and open new businesses, create jobs.
