Bishkek, March 9 / Kabar /. On March 7, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Erik Beishembiev met with adviser of the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the IRP and expressed the hope that his appointment and activities in the host country would contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting, the sides expressed mutual satisfaction with the successful holding of the 13th ECO Summit in Islamabad on March 1, where the delegation of Kyrgyzstan was headed by the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbekov.
Beishembiev highly appreciated the results of bilateral talks between Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zheenbekov and Prime Minister of Pakistan Sharif, held on the sidelines of the ECO Summit, which will certainly promote Kyrgyz-Pakistani cooperation in all spheres of activity of mutual interest.
Sartaj Aziz welcomed the interest shown by Kyrgyzstan in the ongoing transport project "China-Pakistan: Economic Corridor", capable of providing Kyrgyzstan and other Central Asian republics with access to the sea via the Pakistani seaports of Gwadar and Karachi.
The sides also discussed Pakistan's forthcoming participation in the Global Summit on Snow Leopard Conservation in August of this year in Kyrgyzstan, the need to promote cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and the development of bilateral ties between the competent authorities of the two states on combating terrorism and extremism.
