New logistics center for sorting, cleaning, packing and storing fruits and vegetables is opened in Aravan region of Osh oblast with the financial support of USAID through the project "Agrogorizont" by private entrepreneur Avaz Abdurakhimov, the Osh oblasts administration reported.
Currently 20 people work in this logistics center. The capacity of the center is 6 thousand cubic meters. The logistics center is able to sort, clean and pack from 10 thousand tons to 30 thousand tons of products per day. In the future, it is planned to increase the number of workers to 50 people.
"This logistics center is the largest in the southern region of Kyrgyzstan and from 2018 plans to purchase vegetables and fruits from farmers in Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken oblasts with subsequent export to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union," the report said.
