New Ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan elected

Bishkek, Sept. 26, 2018. / Kabar /. Deputies of the Kyrgyz Parliament elected Tokon Mamytov as ombudsman of the country at the session of the Jogorku Kenesh.

Voting was secret. 79 deputies voted for his candidacy. There were 4 candidates: Kanatbek Aziz won 19 votes, Ryskul Baktybaev received 10 votes, 9 deputies voted for Rita Karasartova.

Earlier, Tokon Mamytov acquainted deputies with his program, he noted that it is necessary to give due attention to the protection of the rights of minors and women. He promised to pay due attention to the problems of citizens in prisons and also help in solving the existing problems of migrants.

Former Ombudsman Kubat Otorbaev resigned from the post of ombudsman at his own request on June 26, 2018.
