New park in memory of medics to appear in southern part of Bishkek

Bishkek, Aug. 11, 2020. /Kabar/. A new park will appear in the southern part of Bishkek. During his visit on Aug. 11, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov suggested that the park be named after Adinai Myrzabekova in memory of medics and volunteers who have made invaluable contributions to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Jeenbekov once again noted the selfless work of medical workers, his press service reported.

"In the struggle for the most precious thing - life, we all pray to God and wait for help from doctors. In these difficult days, burden on medical workers and responsibility for people's lives on has increased . Once again I express my deep gratitude to our doctors," the Kyrgyz president stressed.

“Contemporaries seek to perpetuate the memory of their heroes. We also wish that the memory of Adinai will be preserved for many years to come. Let each of us, coming to this park, pay tribute to the memory of Adinai and our heroic doctors," the head of state noted.

During the tour of the park, which has several sports grounds, Jeenbekov witnessed training games in basketball, volleyball and workout.

Representatives of Street Workout Federation said that in the coming weeks, given the current epidemiological situation, they plan to hold sports competitions without spectators, using digital technologies. They asked the president to assist in organizing this event.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov supported the idea and noted the relevant state bodies will definitely help in the organization of this event and provide the necessary assistance.

The area of the new park is more than 8 hectares. It has sports grounds, bicycle lanes, an amphitheatre with 300 seats and a medical station. To date, all works have been completed and the park will be put into operation in the near future.

Adinai Murzabekova, 21, a 5th year student of the Faculty of Medicine, worked as a volunteer in a temporary hospital organized at the Discovery Hotel. According to preliminary data of the Health Ministry, she died of bilateral pneumonia.

On July 15 by Presidential Decree of Jeenbekov, Myrzabekova has been awarded the Erdik Medal (posthumously) for her voluntary selfless work and contribution to the fight against COVID-19 coronavirus infection.
