Bishkek, Jan. 26, 2024 /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov took part in the opening of the perinatal center at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health in Bishkek.
In his speech, the head of state noted that the center will provide medical care to women with pathologies during pregnancy and newborn children with congenital defects.
“In this regard, the center was provided with new innovative equipment and operating rooms. I sincerely believe that the work of the center will help us reduce child and maternal mortality, and also contribute to the development of domestic medicine. The state will make every effort to achieve this,” he said.
In turn, Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said that this center is the first in Central Asia. “The center was built taking into account world standards and equipped with modern medical equipment. The medical institution plans to carry out complex operations, the need for which is caused by various pathologies and complications,” he added.
The area of the new perinatal center is 4 thousand square meters. It is designed for 203 beds and should begin operating in February 2023. The construction of the perinatal center was carried out using grant funds from the German Development Bank (KFW).
