Bishkek, Aug. 12, 2021 . / Kabar / . The new school year in educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan will start on Sept. 15. The relevant decision was signed by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Ulukbek Maripov.
According to the press service of the Cabinet, the decision to postpone the start of the school year for 15 days was made in order to gradually move to the traditional form of education in accordance with the epidemiological situation in the country to ensure the quality of education.
In turn, the Ministry of Education and Science notes that when resuming the educational process in the traditional format, public health issues, advantages and risks of such a format and other factors should be taken into account.
"Currently, 152,827 employees, including junior and technical staff, work in educational organizations of all levels of education. According to the information of the Health Ministry, as of Aug. 12, a total of 56 thousand 114 employees have been vaccinated against COVID-19 with at least 1 dose, which is 36.7%. In turn, there is need to vaccinate at least 70% of employees to create collective immunity, i.e. at least 52 000 workers of educational sphere all over the country should be vaccinated,” the report says.
The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported that the adoption of the decree will not affect the salaries of workers in the education system, as well as the educational process.
