New stage of relations between Central Asia and US is opening – Kyrgyz expert

The countries of Central Asia are opening a new stage of encouraging relations with the United States of America, in particular Kyrgyzstan, as the United States has received specific proposals for the implementation of certain projects, expert Mars Sariev said commenting on the trip of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to the United States.

He said that the signing of a cooperation agreement between Kyrgyzstan and the United States will take place in the near future, and this is due, among other things, to the fact that after leaving Afghanistan, the United States is interested in cooperation with Central Asia and is keeping the region in focus.

“I think that signing an agreement on cooperation and resumption of close relationships is not a matter of long time. The meeting with the US President was constructive both with all the leaders of Central Asia and with Kyrgyzstan in particular,” Sariev said.

He emphasized that now is a good period for establishing relations, which will lead to stability in Central Asia and the Caucasus.

“In general, it is very important that a corridor to Europe is opening for Central Asia,” Sariev added.
