Bishkek, Nov.25, 2024. /Kabar/. A solemn opening ceremony of a new tourist service (TSS) center in Balykchy town of Issyk-Kul Oblast was held on Nov. 24.

The center was built within the “The Third Phase of the Central Asia Regional Links Program” project, the Tourism Development Support Fund said.

The opening of the TSS in Balykchy will provide convenience to tourists, facilitate their way to popular resorts and ski resorts in the region, as well as contribute to job creation and economic development.

The new center offers a wide range of services for tourists, including information support, a rest area, a mini-market with souvenirs, toilets, parking spaces and charging stations for electric vehicles. This is one of the facilities included in a wider project to create a network of tourist service centers along the shores of Issyk-Kul Lake. Similar centers are being opened in other regions of the oblast.

The project was implemented by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan at the request of the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and with the support of the World Bank, and in 2024 its facilities were transferred to the management of the Tourism Development Support Fund.
