Bishkek, April 14, 2023. / Kabar/. A meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CIS member states was held on April 14, 2023, in Samarkand, under the chairmanship of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev.
This is the first meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers this year, which takes place within the framework of the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Commonwealth, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country said.
During the exchange of views on topical issues on the international agenda, the heads of delegations discussed the state and prospects of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation in the CIS format.
Minister Kulubaev in his speech noted that within the framework of its chairmanship, the Kyrgyz Republic sets the task of jointly contributing to improving the efficiency of the organization and strengthening integration processes in the Eurasian space.
He also stressed that today the CIS remains an important element and a broad platform for strengthening integration processes and multifaceted cooperation between our countries.
The heads of the foreign ministries highly appreciated the work carried out by the Kyrgyz side within the framework of the chairmanship in the CIS and expressed their readiness to take an active part in the upcoming events.
As a result of the meeting, the members of the Council approved a number of documents that will be submitted for approval during the upcoming meetings of the Council of Heads of State and the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS.
It was decided to hold the next meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS on October 12 this year in Bishkek.
