Next SCO RATS meeting will be held in Kyrgyzstan

Tashkent, Apr. 5, 2018. / Kabar /. The 32nd meeting of the Council of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (RATS SCO) was held in Tashkent under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan.

It was attended by the delegation of Kyrgyzstan headed by director of the Ant-Terrorist Center of the State Committee for National Security Rustam Mamasydykov, as well as representatives of India, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS.

The participants of the meeting approved the drafts of the Program of Cooperation of the SCO Member States in Combating Terrorism, Separatism and Extremism for 2019-2021 and the report of the SCO RATS Council to the forthcoming SCO summit on the activities of this organization in 2017.

The results of the joint antiterrorist exercise of the competent bodies of the SCO member states to identify and suppress the use of the Internet for terrorist, separatist and extremist purposes "Xiamen-2017" were approved. A decision was made to hold in 2018 a joint border operation of the SCO member states.

The participants also discussed threats to SCO member states caused by international terrorist organizations, reached an agreement on strengthening cooperation between the competent bodies of the SCO member states.

In order to develop international cooperation in the sphere of combating terrorism, the drafts of memorandums of understanding and cooperation of the SCO RATS with the Executive Directorate of the CTC of the UN Security Council and the UN Counter-Terrorism Agency have been approved.

It was decided to hold in the fourth quarter of 2018 the Sixth Scientific and Practical Conference on Cooperation of the SCO Member States and Observer States in the area of ​​countering international terrorism and extremism.

An agreement was reached to hold the next meeting of the SCO RATS Council in October 2018 in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
