Uzbekistan to preside over regular meeting of CIS Council of Heads of State

Tashkent, Sept. 12, 2020. /Kabar/. A regular summit of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Heads of State will be held on Oct. 16. It became known as a result of meeting between Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev.

According to the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, Kamilov and Lebedev discussed preparations to the upcoming meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State. In particular, the sides exchanged views on the implementation of the Action Plan for Uzbekistan's CIS chairmanship in 2020.

It was noted that despite the coronavirus pandemic, the Uzbek side managed to successfully implement most of previously planned events.

During the meeting, a special attention was paid to the issues of careful preparation of the main event of Uzbekistan's presidency in CIS Summit of Heads of State on Oct. 16.

The agenda of the event includes important issues aimed at further enhancing the efficiency of CIS activities.
