No coronavirus patients in Kyrgyzstan today, Health Ministry

Bishkek, Feb.21, 2020. /Kabar/. The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic held on Thursday a regular meeting of the Republican Headquarters for Preventing Import and Further Spread of Coronavirus in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The country’s Health Minister Kosmosbek Cholponbayev spoke about measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. Currently, there are no patients with coronavirus in the Kyrgyz Republic and the number of rapid tests to detect the virus is sufficient, the Government’s press service said.

According to information of the Foreign Ministry, there are no Kyrgyzstanis in China among those infected.

Deputy Prime Minister Altynayi Omurbekova noted the importance of carrying out qualitative information and awareness raising work in schools and kindergartens on observance of rules of personal hygiene in order to prevent various viral infections.

State bodies permanently monitor and control the situation and inform the public about security measures in a timely manner.

At the end of the meeting the relevant state structures have been instructed to continue monitoring the prices of medicines and consumer goods.

All checkpoints at the state border of the Kyrgyz Republic are continuing to operate in a reinforced regime and necessary preventive measures have been taken.

Temporary observation rooms with all necessary supplies have been set up. Every visitor from countries with a poor epidemiological situation undergoes thermometric and laboratory examination of samples from the upper respiratory tract.

Also, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has prepared 413 beds at reception and accommodation facilities: 100 beds at the Torugart checkpoint in Naryn Oblast, 100 beds at the Irkeshtam checkpoint in Osh Oblast; 183 beds have been set up at Manas International Airport; and 30 beds at the airport in the city of Osh.
