Bishkek, Jan. 11, 2024. /Kabar/. As a result of armed clashes between criminal gangs and law enforcement forces of Ecuador, there are casualties among police officers and civilians, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
According to information from the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the USA and Canada, there are no citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic among the dead and injured, and there are also no citizens of Kyrgyzstan registered at the consulate in Ecuador.
President of Ecuador D. Noboa on January 8 this year issued a decree introducing a state of emergency throughout the state for a period of 60 days, which, includes a curfew from 23:00 to 5:00.
The ministry strongly recommends against traveling Ecuador and visiting the country in general at this time.
