No Kyrgyzstanis on board downed airplane in Sudan: MFA

Bishkek, Oct. 22, 2024. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan commented on the information about the downed cargo plane in Sudan.

Regarding the document of Manas International Airport OJSC (flight pass) found in the crash of the airplane in Sudan the press service of the Foreign Ministry said that it belonged to an employee of Airline Transport Incorporation FZC, a citizen of Russia Viktor Granov, and not to an employee of Manas Airport.

The State Civil Aviation Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan reported that the IL-76TD aircraft with registration number EX-76011 was removed from the civil aircraft register of Kyrgyzstan on Jan.12, 2024 and transferred to the registration of the Republic of Sudan.

Meanwhile, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia promptly requested information on this incident through diplomatic channels.

According to preliminary information, there are no Kyrgyz citizens on board the downed airplane. The issue is under control of the country’s Foreign Ministry
