No mass infection with coronavirus among population: deputy health minister

Bishkek, Apr. 18, 2020. /Kabar/. No COVID-19 coronavirus infection has been observed among the population, Deputy Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Nurbolot Usenbayev said Saturday.

According to him, today the number of contact persons is 7 thousand 738. Of these, 1 thousand 663 are close contacts (first category), 6 thousand 75 are in the second category.

"All these new cases are registered among quarantined persons. There are no cases of infection among the general population. We carry out appropriate activities according to all algorithms. All foci are delineated and anti-epidemiological measures and extensive hygienic treatment continues," Usenbayev assured.

On Apr. 18, another 17 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been identified in Kyrgyzstan, bringing the total to 506.

Of these, 116 are cases of medical personnel infection.

A total of 130 patients have recovered and been discharged throughout the country. Five have passed away.
