Bishkek, June 24, 2022. /Kabar/. To date, no cases of monkeypox have been reported in Kyrgyzstan and neighboring countries, the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance reported.
In order to prevent and increase vigilance for monkeypox, the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan approved "Temporary Guidelines", which specify measures to strengthen control in the day hospitals of those crossing the state border arriving from unaffected, readiness of virology laboratories, an infectious disease department in case of detection of a patient.
In addition, training seminars are also being organized for health care workers to increase doctors' alertness to clinical signs such as rash and fever, as well as to investigate cases and establish contact with the sick.
WHO informs that so far there is no danger of declaring a pandemic.
3,721 cases of monkeypox have been reported worldwide. The first cases in Europe were reported on May 7, 2022, in Great Britain (imported case), infected came from Nigeria. By May 20, the virus had spread further to other European countries (Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Germany, Sweden, the United States, Australia and Canada).
A total of 48 countries have reported cases of monkeypox, with 3,721 confirmed cases. The rate of spread is increasing weekly in several contingents.
