Bishkek, April 6, 2021 . / Kabar/ . No repeat COVID-19 infection cases have been registered in Kyrgyzstan, Uluk-Bek Bekturganov, the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development of the republic said during a briefing on Tuesday.
He added that COVID-19 is a long-term chronic disease.
"Citizens who contracted COVID-19 symptoms in the summer of 2020 admit to us. However, it is not a re-infection. Officially, no cases of COVID-19 re-infection have been registered in Kyrgyzstan," he said.
A total of 89,277 cases of the novel coronavirus were registered in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the pandemic, and 7,382 cases were registered since the beginning of the year.
Previously, Center for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of Bishkek reported seven repeat cases of infection with COVID-19. However, later the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic denied this information.
