The introduction of serious restrictions in connection with the epidemiological situation related to the spread of coronavirus infection is not expected today, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov said Thursday at a meeting of the Republican Headquarters.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported that the meeting was held with the participation of heads of health-care organizations in Bishkek and Osh cities, regional and district medical institutions.
"In recent days, the public has been actively discussing the increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection, citizens are worried about the introduction of restrictive measures, as it was last year. I would like to point out that the return of those requirements to close down economic activity, the introduction of a lockdown is not expected to happen today. The economy will not survive this. There will be no restrictions of a serious nature. However, citizens need to be more responsible about safety measures and compliance with the sanitary and epidemiological requirements. You see that in many countries serious restrictions are introduced in many countries due to increase in cases of COVID-19. In our country, the incidence rate is over 100-150 cases a day, and today the situation is under control. Meanwhile, we must be fully prepared for a worsening situation,” Artem Novikov said.
During the meeting, the issues of provision of health-care organizations with medical workers, personal protective equipment, stock of medicines, equipment, readiness of medical personnel were considered.
The first deputy prime minister emphasized the importance of reducing bureaucratic procedures when providing hospitals with necessary medicines or equipment.
In the coming days the readiness of doctors and nurses from the reserve list must be ensured for sending operative medical brigades to the areas, where the epidemiological situation will worsen.
The Ministry of Health and Social Development has been instructed:
- to ensure readiness for the deployment of reserve beds in Chui Oblast and Bishkek, and to prepare a deployment plan, as well as together with the Department of Drugs Supply and Medical Equipment to make a monthly schedule and ensure that pharmaceutical companies and their distributors bring a sufficient amount of medicines, PPE, antiseptics into the country,
- conduct a medical examination of children studying in schools in the traditional mode and children attending kindergartens, regardless of ownership.
In case of identification of facts, to take measures in accordance with the approved algorithm.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance together with the Ministry of Health and Social Development have been instructed to provide priority funding for additional needs in equipment and medicines in case of the third wave, and to allocate funding for the purchase of vaccines against coronavirus, including at the expense of private organizations.
