Bishkek, April 13 / Kabar /. There is no urgent need in Kyrgyzstan to switch to the Latin alphabet, historian-political scientist Ainura Arzymatova told Kabar Agency.
Today deputy of the Kyrgyz Parliament Kanybek Imanaliev stated that Kyrgyzstan should switch to the Latin alphabet by 2040, as this is a requirement of world trend.
Ainura Arzymatova noted that almost 100-year history of Kyrgyzstan is written in Cyrillic.
"And now it is necessary to switch everything to the Latin alphabet? And if we leave it as it is, then these materials will be inaccessible for the future generation? I think that there is no urgent need to switch to the Latin alphabet, as many countries are speaking in Russian today," she said.
Also, the political scientist noted that there are many more problems in the country that need to be solved.
"Nobody knows what will happen in 2040, it is necessary to solve pressing problems," she added.
