Bishkek, Oct. 25, 2018. /Kabar/. Not a single country in the Central Asian region has managed to stop the increase in extremist and terrorist crimes, a study of the regional representation of Penal Reform International in Central Asia shows.

The number of people convicted of such crimes in Kyrgyzstan is 256 (as of March 25, 2018), in Kazakhstan - 661 (as of February 12, 2018), in Tajikistan - 675 (as of May 14, 2018).

“The major problem today is not so much their detention, but the process of preparing for life in the community after serving the sentence. After all, according to the most conservative estimates, in the next 5-7 years only in Kazakhstan more than 20 thousand convicts from this category will be released,” PRI reported.
