Number of alcohol and drug addicts decreased in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Feb. 11, 2018 / Kabar /. 1,368 new cases of alcohol dependence registered in Kyrgyzstan in 2017, which amounted to 22.1 per 100 thousand people (in 2016 - 1,697 cases, 27.6), a decrease by 20%, the press service of the Ministry of Health reported.

The decrease is observed in all regions, excepting Talas (+ 64.9%) and Osh (+ 8.5%) oblasts.

In addition, there is a decrease in the republic in the incidence of drug dependence by 20.7%, the indicator was 4.5 per 100 thousand people (2016 - 5.7 per 100 000 population).

The indicator remains higher in Chui oblast (11.1). Bishkek (9.2) and Osh (9.1). No patients with drug dependence are registered in Naryn, Batken and Osh oblasts.
