Bishkek, Jan. 20, 2021. /Kabar/. According to the operational data of Kyrgyzstan’s Health Ministry, 35 thousand cases of pneumonia were registered in January-November 2020 compared to 29 thousand cases in the corresponding period of 2019, or 23% more.
The press service of the National Statistics Committee reported that the highest increase in the incidence of pneumonia was in Issyk-Kul Oblast - 2.2 times, Bishkek city - 1.8 times, as well as Chui Oblast - 1.5 times.
About 28 thousand people applied to medical and sanitary institutions for coronavirus infection during the period under review.
About 47,000 people were admitted to hospitals in the first 11 months of last year, and Osh Oblast of the republic accounted for the largest share - 16%, Dzhalal-Abad Oblast - 14% and Chui oblast - 11%.
According to the State Registration Service, 533 people died of pneumonia in the first 11 months of 2019, which was 32% of the total number of deaths from respiratory diseases, compared to 1,287, or 52%, in January-November 2020.
2,102 people died from COVID-19 coronavirus infection for a 11-month period of 2020, or 35 deaths per 100 thousand people.
The highest excess of average republican mortality rate from pneumonia was observed in Chui and Naryn Oblasts, as well as in Bishkek, while mortality from coronavirus infection (COVID-19) - in Bishkek and Osh cities, as well as Talas Oblast.
